By Gender Dissent
A Gender Dissent report from the sidelines of this year's Capital Pride parade.
While the mayor of Ottawa led a brave “pride” of logical people away from supporting Capital Pride parade this year, don't fret!
Gender Dissent was on the scene so you wouldn’t miss out.
While we applaud Mayor Sutcliffe and other folx who figured out that Palestine and Pride don’t mix (unless you’re looking to get a homosexual tossed off a building, of course) we decided to go anyway.
"Transsexuals for a free Palestine"
Our mission? To spot new pride flags in the wild. Given they reproduce like rabbits, it can be hard to catch on to what Capital Pride is actually celebrating. Or is it?
"No pride for some of us without liberation for all of us."
What we do know is that controlling language and confusing people is at the heart of any authoritarian plot, which could explain why the Communist Party of Canada was also there.
Here’s a quick ‘how authoritarians roll’ refresher in case it’s been a while since you read 1984:
Step 1: Shove political correctness down your throat.
Step 2: Smear and censor truth tellers, and purge their knowledge from the workforce by firing anyone over the age of 50, since they’re more likely to know what a tomboy is.
With both of these tactics firmly institutionalized in Canada, the struggle to keep up with our communist overlords and their nonsensical symbols is real.
That’s why we’re here — to help our loyal readers virtue signal effectively and avoid getting axed from their jobs or thrown into a degrading struggle session that strips them of their dignity and, dare we say it, pride. Unfortunately, we already know how badly that can end.
Without any further ado, here are the flags we spotted at this year’s Capital Pride parade.
Flag spotting
Rainbow flag
Created in 1978 by Gilbert Baker, the Rainbow flag is the OG Pride symbol that actually makes sense.
Back in the day, Harvey Milk asked Baker to create a symbol of gay pride and the now ubiquitous Rainbow flag was the result.
Progress flag, with and without front-hole representation
Around 2018, the OG pride flag morphed into the Progress flag so black and brown people would feel included by symbolizing them with black and brown stripes. This has the added bonus of making them separate and apart, just as MLK Jr. intended.
The circle was added to the Progress flag in 2021 to represent intersex people, despite their ongoing demands to kindly exclude them from the gender ideology cult because they want nothing to do with this hotbed of human atrocity.
In that spirit, we hereby rechristen the ‘intersex circle progress flag’ as someone else did on X: "Maybe that's the front hole we're hearing about recently?"
Trans flag
The pastel pink, baby blue and white flag was created by U.S. Navy Veteran Monica Helms in 2000, a man who started dressing as a woman in the 1970s.
What’s special about this flag is how it reinforces sex stereotypes, while seemingly being child-friendly.
In fact, it’s the very flag needed to make the under-six crowd and their Munchausen-by-Proxy parents feel welcome at “social events” that include brow-raising age spans like “11 - 22 years old” and “family-friendly” drag queen story hours at your publicly-funded local library.
Ottawa Public Library Pride
The communist flag and a red flag featuring Che Guevera
As mentioned earlier, the Communist Party of Canada marched proudly behind a red banner, followed by more red flags than we’ve witnessed since deleting Tinder.
And naturally, there was also a single flag proudly depicting Argentinian socialist hero, Che Guevara, who helped establish a regime in Cuba that viewed homosexuals as reprobates.
While the Liberal Party of Canada did not attend, they must have been heartened to know a few folx who share their political values did.
Whether any of the marchers helped China interfere in the past few federal elections, we'll never know.
Pansexual and Asexual flags
These two flags are grouped together simply because they don’t mean anything. Pansexual is a colourful flag with pink, blue and yellow, symbolizing their inability to make a decision about what they want.
The asexual flag is less cheerful and sports black, grey, white and purple stripes, which likely represents how you feel when you’ve given up on life.
Lesbian flag
Hooray! We have a second flag imbued with real meaning because it represents real people with real problems.
Unfortunately the lesbian flag was not accompanied by a public service announcement explaining that lesbian’s rights, dignity and safety are being destroyed by gender ideology and the trans cult.
Maybe next year.
Non-binary and Gender Fluid flags
We’re back in "what do these even mean" territory.
That said, it’s important to note these meaningless categories don’t actually mean the same thing — there’s a subtle difference. We don’t know what it is, but since the internet says so, it must be true.
The Non-Binary flag born in 2014 has the same colours as the asexual flag, except they switched out the gray for yellow, perhaps to show that they still have hope? The main point of "non-binary" is they don’t identify with any gender at all.
The Gender Fluid flag was created in 2013 by JJ Poole and represents people who identify with ALL 734 imaginary genders.
A key point is their gender-y feelz can change at any moment, with no warning, and for no apparent reason. So this flag was made for folx who enjoy manipulating other people based on their personal whims.
Two-spirit flag
If you’re trans and happen to be Indigenous, you will also need your own flag with feathers that represent different genders for the sake of “inclusion.” Yet another example of how “including” everyone starts by identifying people of different races and telling them to get their own damn flag.
Indigenous Pride
Trans–inclusive gay men’s pride flag
Not to be outdone by separating black, brown and Indigenous people from the rest of the group, this flag was created to make non-cisgender gay men feel included by — yet again — telling them to fly their own flag.
Perhaps someone should have told the boy carrying this flag that it is supposed to be for adults. Or maybe tell his parents. (Will somebody do something to protect these children, FFS?)
Sidenote: We have no idea what “non-cisgender gay men” means and our brains are hurting. Feel free to figure it out and share your thoughts in the comments. (JK! We can't afford a legal team).
*UPDATE: We think it could mean women, or “uterus havers,” if you’re towing the line.
Palestinian and Israeli flags
To no one’s surprise, Palestinian flags were spotted in abundance, supported with “no pride in genocide” chants, even though the first thing that would happen to any homosexual person in Palestine is a good genociding.
"STONEWALL WAS AN INTEFADA — PRIDE IS POLITICAL"
The Israeli flag was carried by a lone man (we're assuming he was a man, we didn’t ask his pronouns — our bad) relegated to walking completely alone. This brave individual was the only person who marched without music, chants or support of any kind. So at least that’s sort of historically accurate?
Israeli Pride
To wrap this up, do we need to point out that the whole thing is one big red flag?
No? Good.
It was a banner day at the Capital Pride parade
Wait, there’s more: a special bonus for anyone who's still with us.
We also documented our favourite banners! As incomprehensible as the flag situation has become with this cult, it’s nothing compared to its incoherent messaging.
Some of the images below are a tad blurry, sorry about that! We like to think it represents how gender ideology is blurring sexual boundaries on the way to abolishing consent completely.
Here are our faves:
“Parents united against fascism”
It seems odd that they would include the parents who organized the Million March for Children into the parade.
Because if you’re assuming that’s an accurate statement, who else would it describe besides the people telling the state to stop indoctrinating their kids?
“Pride is not a prop for corporate performative allyship”
Yet another example where they include people who see through their B.S. to march with them. Weird.
Because as we all know, gender ideology most definitely is a prop for corporate performative allyship. Just ask Bud Light, they’ll tell you all about it.
DIPLOMAT PRIDE
Green Party of Canada paraded with a Kool Aid prop
No seriously, they did.
Which is totally normal for people who have zero self-awareness or insight into how they're coming across. Exactly the kind of people you want choosing our future leaders.
Is it too much to ask of people helping to install (oops, we mean elect) our leaders to have heard of the Jonestown massacre? Drink up, kids!
“No pride in genocide”
There’s no pride in genocide, unless you’re a member of “Queers for Palestine” because we have it on good authority that the Palestinians are quite proud at offing homosexuals in a horrific fashion.
Maybe one of them can explain how sacrificing their lives furthers Palestinian freedom. Or is this a climate change thing to reduce the global population one queer at a time? We really should have called Greta. Anyhoo, yet another psychological projection of which they seem to be completely unaware.
"Our voices will not be silenced; our lives will not be erased. We are human through and through."
“Uterus freedom”
Okay we'll take a stab at defining this: It’s the kind of freedom we "uterus havers" get to enjoy when encountering a penised-individual in our change rooms.
Feel free to add your interpretation in the comments! (Still kidding, no budget.)
“Solidarity forever”
This banner positioned the slogan above the Palestinian flag and the Progress flag, in that order. At least the Palestinian flag was on top to signify its dominance over the alphabet people?
Again, your interpretations would be welcome if Canada's government wasn't shutting down bank accounts for supporting what we believe in and controlling our Senate and Supreme Court.
"Daddy Therapy"
This lovely banner was on the side of a pick up truck. The truck was followed by a massive middle-aged bearded biker dude wearing a kilt, and a gaggle of children.
Yep “daddy therapy” is a totally normal and age-appropriate message to project onto vulnerable children you don’t know, especially if you’re a ped@#&%!?, we suppose?
Yellow school bus
The most amazing symbol of all was the school bus pimped out in pretty pride decorations.
Based on the heap of trouble in which the TDSB recently found itself, the OCDSB may want to take note that foisting activism onto elementary school children and lying to their parents about it is somewhat frowned upon in our country.
Our hope for next year
While we didn't spot any new flags, we humbly propose a new idea.
The logical folks who skipped Capital Pride this year may want to take a closer look at what Capital Pride and other trans organizations actually stand for.
Because pretending humans can change sex and destroying children’s health to make them lifelong cash cows for Big Pharma — for a condition that desists in 80 per cent of children who are left alone and not immediately ‘affirmed’ — could be the most illogical proposition of all.
Our sincere hope is that there will be no need for a Capital Pride parade report next year because the Canadian medical community will have finally realized there's no "pride" in supporting the well-funded, Big Pharma-fueled beast that is "gender affirming care."
Father Pride wears horns.
